Haas Foundation Gives Back to the Industry
It is rewarding to know when Laszeray, as a company, invests in an entire factory floor full of Haas high speed, 4- and 5-axis milling centers, that not only have you purchased the best, American-made equipment on the market, you’ve also supported a company that is committed to U.S. manufacturing as well as the education of future, highly-skilled machinists.
Recently, Haas gave a Gene Haas Scholarship to a promising student at North Central Texas College. They also donated a grant fund earmarked for scholarships to go toward current and future students enrolled in the Precision Machining and Manufacturing Program at MCC.
Brian Warren, coordinator and instructor for the MCC Precision Machining and Manufacturing Program expresses his gratitude, “We are honored and grateful for this generous grant from the Gene Haas Foundation. The funds will be used to implement NIMS (National Institute of Metalworking Skills) credentialing for our program students so that they will not only leave with an associate of applied science degree, but also a nationally recognized industry certification.”
Since it’s founding by owner Gene Haas in 1999, the Gene Haas Foundation has provided funding to more than 4,000 charitable organizations and schools amounting to over 50 million dollars.
In an industry and country that is estimated to be roughly one million short on qualified machinists, it is important to have organizations so dedicated to manufacturing education and machinist training.
